Symbol MC50 Hotfix (SDIO)
Some Symbol MC50 devices have experienced problems when using Socket's SD Bluetooth card to connect with other Bluetooth enabled products. For example, the Socket Cordless 56K Modem experiences time-outs while browsing or fails to connect. There is an errata for the Intel processor/SD controller SA270 that states the SD Clock should be run at 10 MHz instead of 20 MHz for SDIO cards.
The Hotfix for Socket's Bluetooth stack forces the MC50 SD Clock to 10 MHz, enabling the SD Bluetooth card to function properly. This Hotfix must be installed AFTER the Bluetooth Windows CE drivers are installed on your Pocket PC. Note that the Hotfix must be re-installed whenever there are changes to the Bluetooth drivers, i.e., re-installation, update, etc.
